The tour is guided by actors who appeared as background on at least one episode of Breaking Bad or its spinoff Better Call Saul. Our guide was witty and entertaining the entire time and at several locations, video clips from the show enhance the experience. Here is a short video that gives an idea of what it is like riding inside the RV.

One aspect of travel that I really love is to experience a new area by taking an organized tour. While I love exploring and checking out the local hot spots on my own, going the guided tour route can make it easier to soak everything and see a little bit of everything within a given area. During our stay in New Mexico we did just that by experiencing our first tour in an RV via the Breaking Bad RV Tour that took us to a lot of the locations where the popular TV show was filmed.

The tour is more than just a drive-by of locations. The guides offer some fascinating insight into the show, such as when we stopped at Reynold’s Auto Service, which is where Jesse raced to steal back the RV in season two. In a memorable scene, he fell into a porta potty after climbing a fence. The tour operator told us that Jesse was originally supposed to be chased by guard dogs, but the production could not afford the tens of thousands of dollars that would cost. Vince Gilligan noticed a storage lot for porta potties across the street from the auto yard and quickly improvised a change that was much more original than what was written.
The guides also had a real affection for the tour, stopping to chat with the people who worked at the locations we visited. Their enthusiasm for the town was infectious as well. Since it wasn’t a stop, I later sought out the nail salon where Jimmy McGill runs his law practice on Better Call Saul. What other show(s) or tour could inspire someone to visit a strip mall!
The trivia was also a fun way to pass the time while driving around. The prizes were mainly bags of (fake) Blue. With a little help from Google, I was the big winner. The tour overall was a great way to spend three plus hours in Albuquerque if you are a fan of the Breaking Bad universe, even at the cost of $75. My rating reflects my trivia winnings by giving the Breaking Bad RV Tour my highest possible score of five bags of Blue!
Before the tour starts, you get excited about the replica of the RV used by Walter White and Jesse Pinkman to "cook". Inside there are several objects that refer to the episodes throughout the seasons. To be quite honest, some of these objects I didn't even remember when they appeared in the series.

The guide gives a brief introduction of what we will see over the next 3 hours and starts the vehicle. Initially some scenarios from Better Call Saul are seen, but as the purpose was to capture the locations from Breaking Bad, I ended up going unnoticed.
Look, there's a lot of scenes! A lot to see! The RV stops at every corner to talk a little about the sets and if I were to list them all, I would need to make a movie, apart from the fact that I don't want to say everything so that you also have good surprises..

Dylan Wisneski, who also helps with the tours, gets a kick out of the reaction by some fans when their ride rolls up.
“When the RV arrives, people will start running up to it,” Wisneski said. “They’ll start crying, hugging and kissing it. People absolutely love it.
Some fans used to come in “costume” — in their underwear, like Walter White.
“When we first started touring, we had people show up to take the tours like that,” Wisneski said. “Men and women both. We had to tell them that we have kids who take the tour sometimes, so you’re going to have to put on pants until the end of the day. … It was not a pretty picture sometimes.”
